Allen Campground on Metolius River

Amy and I spent yesterday on the Metolius River. The area has about 12 USFS campgrounds. We drove thru several before finding a site with a river view and ended up at Allen campground. The river view sites are the first to be taken so we felt lucky to have found one!

We hiked to nearby Wizard Falls fish hatchery where we crossed this bridge.

As you  can see the water is a beautiful color of blue green. The water is so clear you can see bottom even when it must be close to 10 feet deep!

Later at camp, we learned how friendly the chipmunks can be as one cliimbed onto Amy's lap begging for a handout!

We headed east this morning and are now at Ochoco Lake State Park. Tomorrow we head to which has no connectivity so my next update will be delayed!
